Commercial Car Insurance, Business Property, Business Liability, and Worker’s Comp. In addition, you may want a group health and live insurance plan to attract and retain good employees.
Some home businesses may start out by using personal auto or property insurance policies, but every business owners need to be sure that will really be enough. If you declare that your car is only used for errands, and you have a claim while using it for a business, the insurance company could have a reason to deny the claim! And you personal property (home) insurance may only cover $10,000 of contents. But if you keep business machines and records in your home, a loss could cost you much more.
